T. T. V. Dhinakaran, better known by his initials T.T.V., is an Indian politician and the founding General Secretary of the Amma Makkal Munneetra Kazagam (Amma Makkal Munneetra Kazagam). In the past, he served as Treasurer of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Party and as a Member of the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha of the Indian Parliament.
Dhinakaran served as a Member of the Lok Sabha, representing Periyakulam, from 1999 to 2004[6][7]. He finished second in the 2004 general election, losing to J. M. Aaron Rashid, who won the seat in the subsequent election. During the 2017 R.K. Nagar by-election, he was elected as an Independent candidate and defeated AIADMK candidate E. Madhusudhanan by a large majority of votes. On December 29, 2017, he was elected to the position of MLA.
A day before V. K. Sasikala was due to submit herself to a Bengaluru court to face a prison sentence in a disproportionate assets case, Dinakaran was re-inducted into the AIADMK and named deputy general secretary on 15 February 2017. He was ousted from the party in August of 2017[2] and formed his own political party, Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam (AMMK), on March 15, 2018, to take its place.
